this is life. we all deal with this everyday. i'm used to it, anyone over the age of 18 should be. but this is not why you're being "picked on". blondi gets it...
blondi wrote:
i'm a noob and i haven't really been hated on yet...i think it's attitude more than status.

the only posts i remember reading about you had nothing to do with you as a person, but you promoting yourself as a "great" dj, i mean cdj musicman extraordinaire. nobody likes to listen to someone boast themselves. especially when no one knows that person. in a bar, most these people would have just walked away from you, but on a faceless messageboard they attack. again, this is life. (p.s. having your "friends" stick up for you makes it worse).

Now, this is the meat of why everyone's picking on you...

symmetry says;

Quote:
Actually, I know that for myself (and seemingly at least a few others) the best way for a n00b to make sure they're not taken seriously on this board, or in the scene in general, is to show up out of nowhere, have no apparent experience, and try to tell people who have been around for a number of years how things "are".

and you respond;

Quote:
Someone will have to define "noob" for me

Noob as in new to the EDM scene (you'd be wrong)
Noob as in DJing (You'd be wrong, again)
Noob as in new to these forums (wrong as well, but I post in spiratic moments... this isn't my main forum I post on)
Noob as in new to the charming people on these boards (there, my friends, you would be correct)

in short, they gave you all the answers you needed not to be picked on, but you keep running back into the fire. there are too many people on the board who are a dj or "attached" to one, so the last thing anyone wants to hear is another dj talk about themselves. like soulgrooviest said, this is a board to be social on.

i hope this cleared everything up a bit for you. quit trying to boast yourself and be yourself and things will work out fine. if not, fuck it and play elsewhere.

i must be getting soft in my old age.

hahahahahah

*breath*

hahahqahahaha

TONIGHT WAS GREAT! I just got into work and still thinking of how great the night went! I did one of my best sets ever and people seemed to like it (except for hte people there that wanted hip-hop, lol). But thank you so much Kyle and Nuno, it was a great experience!! I hope to come out again next week. It was a whole lot of fun and everyone was so nice.

DJ Octane, for the little time I heard you, you did a good job! Sorry you missed my set :-( but there's always next week!

Some tracks I spun which went well.

Altitude - Silence is Loud (Neo & Farina Remix) WHITELABEL
Tukan - Wonder of Life DRIZZLY
Joop - Sonzus ID&T
DJ Session One - Forever
Matt Hardwick vs. Smith & Pledger - Forever ANJUNABEATS
Rank 1 - Symsonic (Album Edit vs. Vocal Club Mix) ID&T
Cetroit - Mind Yourself (Tukan Dub)

Those are in no particular order by the way!

Thank you all! :D

Had a blast last night! Nuno and Kyle, thanks for the opportunity to come out and play. I would have been happy standing in the back drinking a 4.00 dos equis pitcher, but playing made the night great. The sound and lights compliment the music very well and I really think people will like what they hear. We just gotta get them outta the woodwork. Like you said Nuno, its gonna take patience, but I have a good feeling about this.

Thanks again

Yeah man, its the small pitcher though. I think its like 3 beers worth 4 would be pushing it. They also have rolling rock and other stuff. The Long Islands are 8.00 me thinks in the same pitcher. That will mess you up bad though, so I stick to beer.
