So, do you think that Bush is really as dumb as he acts (like pronouncing nuclear "nuke-you-lur") or is he just acting dumb so we will think he's not capable of a diabolical plan to jack up oil prices and go to war?

And on a slightly unrelated note:
Has anyone else heard the theory that the Bush family is part of a race of evil "snake-people" that secretly run the world? Yeah, someone I work with believes this. Please tell me she's the only one...

I don't think anyone here is in the position to judge the presidents intelligence.

Doesn't stop me from speculating.

Official Fiendish speculation of our "President's" intelligence -- slightly above most forms of moss.

hes not the brightest guy... but then again having a super genius as president would be a bad thing... never seeking the advice of his advisors... always thinking he is right... and has the right answers... this is where i think bush makes the best president i have been a part of seeing... (id almost go so far as to say ever... but i havent had first hand experience with that) his trust in his cabinet and advisors is a good thing... his presidencey doesnt revolve around him... but who revolves around him...

You know Carl one of my biggest complaints about Bush is that he listens to his advisors too much. I don't mind Bush -- he's too stupid to do too much damage on his own. I think his advisors are crackpots... well, most of them. Sometimes Colin Powell is insightful, but Ashcroft and Rummy are just plain whackjob.

I don't think you can judge a persons intelligence on how they pronounce words.

ashcroft is shitty... i agree with you on that one... but he was only chosen to free up room for a possible republican (complete speculation)... why then lane shouldnt a president listen to his advisors??? the president is a very very busy man... even on vacation he is working... why should he not listen to his advisors who devote their entire time to the subject that is in question??? who a president chooses as his cabinet in my opinion is more important then the president himself... and this is why... while GW didnt get my vote for president last go around... he will receive it this time

"Do you have blacks too?"
-- "President" George W. Bush to a shocked Brazilian President Fernando Cardoso, in a meeting in March 2001. Interesting side note: Brazil has approx. 170 million black citizens -- about HALF its total population.

I base my "speculation" on statements such as this.

A president should listen to his advisors. But then again I think a president shouldn't be CONTROLLED by his advisors either.

Ah fuck it. I disagree with what Bush does in office, bottom line. I don't care who's pulling the strings, but this administration needs to go.

Think about this. Ten years ago he was a baseball club manager. Then he runs for governor, gets elected and then reelected. Then in his bid for presidency he gets elected. (Don't give me the appointed trash, that's not the point I'm trying to make.) So he does something right at some level, it takes some intelligence to at least seek out the right people to help you accomplish all this in the matter of ten years. I mean, Al Gore was a lifelong politician and was still dull enough to lose.

I think hes a fucking moron.

Id like to have respect for the person who is in office, but when you look through history and see all the great men that held office, then you look at Bush...................................................I mean come on. The president should AT LEAST be able to write his own speeches.........Bush has an army of people doing that for him.

it takes a certain amount of intelligence to become president of the united states. no matter who your dad is or who you know, you don't just wake up and decide to be governor, or president, and just step into the office.

my point is that no matter how stupid he seems, i'm sure every last one of us would be pretty surprised at how much smarter he is than he seems were we put in a room with him to talk for a few minutes one on one.

didn't someone here once post something about the whole "nukuler" thing... about how bush probably mispronounces the word on purpose so that the 'common man' identifies with him.

On some levels that is true. However, if a man in power isn't at least making an affort to pronounce easy words correctly, it makes him sound less intelligent to many people. That may not be fair, but when someone grossly mispronounces something or uses horrible grammar, they seem undeducated... at least when they have a slew of people writing speeches for them. Shouldn't his advisors be telling him when he screws up?

i agree w/ this... so what if he pronounces words differently, that doesn't reflect intelligence...

i'm sure his intelligent b/c of where he is right now... i think that a non-intelligent person wouldn't have been able to make it taht far like he has

I think it does reflect intelligence.....He went to fucking Yale for christ's sake, he should display a little more intelligence in terms of simply being able to speak the english language correctly.........the man's pretty ignorant imo, and yes a non-intelligent person can make it that far in life when you have everything handed to you.....he hasn't worked for much in his life as far as I can tell......as far as a human being maybe Bush is possibly ok on a personal level as in a decent human nature, but I refuse to even believe that given his prior crooked actions and family history in their actions in politics.....

but for him to be president of the U.S, especially the way in which he achieved it should be a disgrace to all of America......of course thats just my opinion on the subject-

I'm not gonna argue about how intelligent Bush is. I don't agree with anything he or his administration have done while in office. Granted, I'm not big on keeping up with all of it but in general my opinion on him is as low as is possible. I can't even stand to listen to him preach or watch him ramble on & on like an evil genius (minus the genius part). I really can't put my finger on it yet but something about him rubs me the wrong way...

I dont think hes stupid because he cant pronounce words properly, i think hes stupid because he seems hellbent on making sure war will always be an issue while hes in charge, first afghanistan then -because they couldnt find him he decided to put some heat on Saddam! Its all a bit too much about votes and not enough about the consequences of pissing off a dictator when he'd really been a bit quiet recently!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's all a bit fishy to me

Bush is a retard who was handed a Yale degree.
His administration is genius.
