Buy a pair of pretty much brand new American-DJ turntables, with needles, and a mixer, in the boxes, with even a shitty microphone included-------$325---------

--------- OR------------

Hold out and afford one Technic at the end of this month, maybe the other by the end of September, and some shitty mixer somewhere in between....

Anyone have any experience with American DJ equipment? (besides shitty ass strobe lights)

If you're in it for the long haul, get the Technics. You'll thank yourself someday. They are sturdy machines (industry standard), they last a looooong time and they retain their value. If you ever decide that you don't want decks anymore, you can sell them for a good price. I seriously doubt you can sell the American DJ decks for much down the road.

I know what ur saying Gruv, believe me......I guess its just a matter of having the cash right now and really wanting to spin some damn records right now, while having a decent set-up....I havent spun on these yet, but they;re a newer model of their tables, and to me they felt like stanton's (by just looking and running them) I was just wondering if anyone had any horror stories as to why these decks suck ass and tell me not to buy them...or if this is a shit deal, seems good to me, but i cant find much pricing for American DJ tables, first time I think i've ever seen them is at ATX records....

Or hey, just noticed this Orgasmic Ent. post in GD.....maybea better deal, though i know those are prob. used wy more than these-

I'd save for the Techs man....when I wanted to start spinning again it was real tempting for me to get a cheap ass pair of gemini's or stantons....but I am so glad I waited until I found a deal on a set of used MK3's ($700 for both, including shipping, the guy only used them for 6 months and it was light use...you cant even tell they weren't brand new when I got them)
'
if you need your fix, cruise on down to SA and I'll let you hit my decks up on the weekends or something

Mixers come and go.. but techs will never die. Save your cash, and get a set of techs. You'll be much happier. Like Dirk said you could get them used or check out ebay. You might find some great deals.

word-...thanx for the response peeps, and the offer to play on your decks Jim, might take u up on that (If you can handle some Breakbeats)...... I really wanna hold out for some techs, but the temptation is very strong to just buy these, then I can always start slowly saving and look forward to havin some Techs next year.....even if i did buy these its not gonna change the fact that I want some techs, only put it back for awhile.....I dunno, maybe ill get drunk tonight and just probably buy these, i just cant stand having a grand worth of records yet not having my own tables to play them, ive never owned a pair (my roomate I used to live with had techs), Its about time I did......decisions decisions-

I was in the same dilema, but I talked to a few people and I decided to hold off for the Technics. My recent speeding ticket kinda set me back though :-?

i was in the same boat... roommate had tables. I would just hold on and buy technics...used. technics last forever. Those stantons or geminis wont. Plus the resale value really holds up well. Y
