I dont use a Mac nor Logic either, but i have a few friends that do....One of them isn't satisfied with it and is switching programs to use Cakewalk I believe....Maybe this will change things, specially if the program(s) will be dedicated for just Macs, sounds like they will have a good thing going....

welll logic is probably the best sequencer on the market. Your friends probably didn't like it because the learning curve is steep! It is not for people just starting out. You can do so much with. It runs virtual instruments. I have had 7 synths and drummachines running on it with no problems. It also has the environment. (if you know max.. this is sort of similar) It is like a visual programming language. Of course i don't use it cuz that shit is hard. but i do use it for basic sequencing, midi, and virtual instruments. I have used alot of programs since '93.. cakewalk, vision studio pro, cubase, fuityloops, reason, motu's digital performer.. Nothing compares to it but like i said..it has a steep learning curve and it takes a couple months before you figure out all the things you need to.

Well your right, the learning curve is steep, but thats true with any program imo, depending on what your'e trying to do with it....... though wether that curve is steeper than any other programs is debatable....I think they're choice is more of problems they're having within the program, and how they're using it, though one continues to support Logic, another has definetly changed their mind about it....but I have heard several times that Logic is the very best for Audio, hence the name....But even Cubase is better and more accurate with Quantization among other things (though the difference isn't really gonna matter in my opinion).....Any rate they're all good programs...You mentioned "Vision Studio Pro"...do you mean Studio Vision?....Man, thats the first program I started learning and messing with in the MIDI music world....Similiar to your other post- Gibson bought that company out years ago i remember and they quit making it....Hopefully that Logic and Apple merger doesn't flop things.......

yeah.. sorry.. i used Opcode's Vision 1.0, Studio Vision pro, and then VisionDSP. Yep.. gibson bought them out and then software to die. but at the time Cubase and Digital Performer was way ahead in terms of technology. Nothing was going to resurrect Studio Vison without a major major upgrade. Opcode made midi hardware (which i also had) and OMS (which macs still use). Apple ,i don't think, will let Logic die, mainly because Logic is used by almost every major studio and musician. Plus Apple has a great interest in sound and video applicatons. (they bought Final Cut Pro which has become the most affordable and best selling Pro editing software on the market)
