I'm trying to amass as much information as is possible from those who have experienced it before filling applications, as I can't take the hits multiple queries will produce.

yea Andrea is right. I've also heard that Car Max is pretty lenient on credit.

I had to buy my truck through Drive Time. They will burn you with the interest rate and price hike but if you're rebuilding then it's worth it until you can refinance with your bank/credit union. My beacon went from 605 to 650 in just one year and was able to refinance last month.

I just talked to someone at Drive Time. They're real thrilled that I live in New Orleans. My options are either Austin or Atlanta, but of course I gotta work on that whole downpayment thing. Combine that with the trip out there...yeah. Headache. But, I gotta do what I gotta do to get back on the road.
