So I just went to a Work from Home Pilot seminar. Pretty neat. How often I have to come into work would be determined between my manager and I -- expected that at least 50% of my work hours are spent at home. I'm thinking 1-2 days at work / week. That means reduced fuel costs and wear on my vehicle -- reducing expenses by about $80/month. They would also reimburse my high speed internet costs -- about $50/month. If I required a business phone line at home, they'd reimburse that as well. I would get a startup allowance of $XXX (taxible income) to cover the cost of a desk, chair, shredder, lockable filing cabinet, phone, second phone line installation and first month's fees. My company would provide a higher-end laptop (desktop replacement rather than the portable alternative generally given to reps), a printer and I can utilize all my current company resources for things like paper, pens, etc.

*throws up horns*

Unfortunately I have to wait until our Q1 to see if I qualify. Which means I have to wait until February. This should be awesome and would go wonderfully with the payraise I'm expecting at the end of this year. :slayer:

i tried the work-from-home thing, it didn't work for me. apparently i'm too much of a pothead to get any work done outside of an office building.

would you "clock in" while you work or just get a set salary and you do the work on your own schedule?

It'd still be hourly, so I'd clock my work-hours like normal. I'd clock my basic 8-5 and any over if it was required. I have a limited workload so if I got caught up and cleared everything over that, well....

*whistles innocently*

I love telecommuting...I get far more work done on the days I work from home than when I'm actually in the office lol.

I throw a records on in the background and just work like a damn machine. I don't shower, eat, shave.. nothing. just work work work work.. Its not pretty.

According to Freud, every dream is the fulfillment of a wish. However this appears to be overstating the case; nightmares are an obvious counter example. Stephen LaBerg, and Howard Rheingold.
