I played quite a bit of the Quake Wars beta, and although I was REALLY impressed with it, I did have a lot of fun playing it. The premise is pretty cool, and it seems more complete than the original ET.
I also very much enjoyed Prey. sometimes it seemed the textures were way too glossy, but that didn't bother me most of the time.
On a side note, it's id, and not I.D.. I.D. is what religious zealots are using to try and force Creationism down our throats. The id name is supposedly as "coincidental reference". Yes, I pulled that last part from the id Wiki page.
I'm definitely waiting for UT3, though.
Ya, that was one too many periods. I am a refugee from religious zealots so I can relate. Most of my brain damage comes from working in call center and dealing with slack jawed yokels all day. I have to adjust a "number" of things to relate. Corporations are bad mmmkay...
I like the idea of ranking up in Quake Wars, which I think might be the saving grace to its horrible presentation. Most of the original ET was based off of Nerve's multiplayer with a few additions. I am not sure if Splash Damage will give the same result. It borrows from several games and ends up Battlefield:Quakewars. Which may or may not be a bad thing depending on.
Just the impression I got from the demo. Very low presentation value, and I have more fun jumping into a Q4 deathmatch than this game. That could change with the overall release.
Halo Wars is looking very promising. Too bad I am sick of the Halo franchise, and their enemies. Maybe Master Chief will be killing giant teddy bears with rainbows flying out their ass this round.
