wow, I smoked some 10x with some friends of before but it was nothing like what any of you guys are describing. I just stood there and had a falling feeling and giggled some. My friend completely feel down laughing and that was about it. the whole thing lasted about 15 mins. I've wanted to try it again but I've just never bothered with it.

If you didn't get a complete mind fuck, then you didn't do it right. That is unless you're purposfully staying in the shallows.

Yeah, I've done this twice, and both times were some of the more intense psychedelic experiences I've had. The first time, I lost control of language, then I turned my head to the left and what I saw in front of my eyes at that moment ( a spoked bicycle wheel) multiplied itself across my entire field of vision. that faded out into a cryrstilline fractured yellow light, which I wandered through (disjointed meaningless syllables which were still somehow comprehendable to me going through my head the whole time) for the rest of the trip. Quite intense.

I want shane's trip. that sounds hilarious.

If you are in the military and if they catch you taking this, they will kick you out with a dishonerable discharge....even though this drug is legal for the time being...

Salvia ROCKS!!!!

I dig the concept of us/humans being just a different form of a stable system just like the computer screen in front of me, one of the times I did salvia: I was inside a wall, i felt like I was the particles in there, with no consciousness, I was dead!, it was scary. Then a little bit of time went by and as I gradually started to come back to "me", I felt this strong connnection with the "wall people" and how I was the lucky one, to be outside the wall and they were all stuck inside, with no thoughts. At this point my friend starts laughing (unrelated to me) and I jump up and scream at him "ITS NOT FUNNY, THOSE POOR PEOPLE!!!" then resume my journey back out.

Other time (salvia + grass) I could see my thoughts moving outside, and my idea's floating around, also could see the sound waves of my friend playing his guitar.

Its a very distinct experience, its not visual... its the feeling of seeing and its more conceptual than content oriented. What I described above is nothing like what the experience is, you don't know there are any other ways of thinking other than the journey you are on. Also, try not to define the experience to what you can describe of it, you just won't be able to describe a lot of it, its private knowledge, unable to be shared. Accept it and embrace it.

For me it always starts very bad, I feel like I'm dead or I'm lost and I will never be able to return to the world, Terrrrible feeling. It's worth the experience tho if you want to spread your boundaries, no pain no gain.

Most important thing: Just embrace it, don't try and fight it!

I don't really buy the idea of not being able to express an experience. I do agree that some experiences are a little beyond our scope of language/expression, but that is exactly the point. Epanding our scope of reality and pushing the bounds of expression lead to new forms of expression. You could say that necesity is the mother of invention.
With enough people sharing the same experience, you eventually find ways of conveying the principles of that experience.
There is actually a large overlap between psychedelics and linguistics. Some theories suggest that both modern language and mathematics were "discovered" only after multiple generations ingested psychedelic fungi. It probably shouldn't be much of a surprise that our collective communication skills have de-evolved since such things have become so demonized.

All these stories you guys share make it sound interesting to try. I wonder how this drug would work on people with PTSD or any type of traumatic problems. hmmm. :nerdl:

I wouldn't reccomend salvia for someone with PTSD.
This is not a healing drug nor is it comforting. It is a sort of temporary hell that from my point of view has no use other than an aid in exploring your' universe. It can be VERY mind expanding, but not in the way that more classical psychedelics are.
A full blown salvia trip is so wrought with paranoia and anxiety that to dive in with preexisting stress is to put it mildly, ill advised.

Hmm, interesting. So I'm assuming you pretty much have to be mentally stable to try this drug, yes?

i smoked some salvia tonight, it was 20X. didn't trip balls but it was kinda weird. basically as soon as i exhaled it felt like i was waking up in a dream and had no real idea how to react to it. definitely a strange out of place feeling but not really uncomfortable.

and i had no real concept of anything existing outside of my field of vision.

I don't know if this is against any rules or not, but if it is I'm sure someone will delete my post.

The proper way to smoke salvia divinorum; (If you want a complete mind fuck)
you need an adjustable peizo lighter, a water pipe (10"), some 10x salvia, a safe and comfortable environment. The lighter needs to be peizo, because as you approach the precipice flicking a Bic can be tricky. Adjust the flame so that it comes out of the lighter by about an inch. The length of the water pipe is crucial because it needs to be long enough for the air to cool a bit before inhalation, but not so long that the drug looses energy before inhalation. The salvia should be at least 10x. Higher is OK, but not crucial. No matter how pure it is, by smoking you will only be able to go so far before you can't even hold the pipe. The comfortable environment is important because it will make the difference between a mind fuck and being eaten by the genitalia of some horrible convoluted irrational demi-god. The water inside the pipe should be just high enough so that when you inhale rapidly, it makes a little bit of gurgling. You don't actually want to filter the smoke, but just cool it a little. Pack about 1/3 gram of salvia into the bowl. You want to put the flame to the bowl at the same time that you begin to inhale rapidly. You should insert the flame about 1/2" into the salvia which is loaded loosly and not packed. It will burn rapidly and your' lungs will hurt a little. After you have filled your' lungs to capacity, cover the bowl with the lighter and hold in your hit until you need to breath. You will start to feel it, but don't stop yet. continue to fill your' lungs rapidly and hold it in. If you can finish off an entire 1/3 gram in this manner, watch out.
I did this a couple years ago and I still have the other 2/3 of that same gram. I haven't yet aquired the juevos to try it again.
