whatever you do don't take IH-35. unless you want to be stuck in a parking lot all day.

Our traffic is bad. But when compared to Phoenix I can't help but chuckle and know we have it so much better. Nevermind Los Angeles -- nothing like 3 hour transits to work!

Secondeded on the IH35 sentiment. Mopac and the new toll roads = win.

Or being on Mopac between the hours of 7am - 9am and 4:30 - 7pm. IH-35 is the worst though.

I drive 7 miles to work -- sometimes it takes me 45 minutes. Sometimes it takes 5 minutes. I have about 8 lights between me and my workplace. Fucking Parmer.

I work at 360 & 2222, and live about...well I don't know how many miles 'cause I'm kinda homelessish right now, but I do know that when I get a permanent living situation, I'm going to keep it where I hit the traffic-less side to work, and the traffic-less side home.

Plus there are about 4857 ways to get to each place you wanna get to in Austin, so no matter where you live, there's a traffic free way to go.

I'm hungry.

I still get lost places.

There are tips.

If you can find Lamar, you can get anywhere.

360, Capital of TX Hwy = same road

183, Research Blvd = Same road

Loop 1, Mopac = Same road

I think the best way to describe Austin's roads, they were built by a drunk man.

I'm of the opinion that TXDOT hired kindygarteners to plan the roads in SA. Along with the times they schedule for construction and whatnot.

ha yeah 183 is great. i'll deal with the 3 or so stop lights over the parking lot that is i35 anyday.

plus its fun driving through the ghetto on the way home down montopolis. once i saw a donkey tied up at the end of someone's driveway.

For some reason, that does not surprise me...

i had a 15 mile commute to work downtown from north austin when i lived there. it took 45 minutes to get there and 45 minutes to get home.

traffic in austin BLOWS. people in ann arbor always complain about the traffic here and i just tell them that they have no idea. it's NOTHING compared to austin.

also, 18 wheelers are not allowed on mopac. :)

Austin was constructed a bajillion times better than Dallas, Houston or San Antonio. San Antonio's roads are like a crack whore after a month long binge... that shit needs to be re-laid.

Damn all this talk about shitty roads makes me skeptical.. Even though the traffic in Phoenix is bad.. We have one of the best freeway systems in the US...
