war crime
–noun Usually, war crimes. crimes committed against an enemy, prisoners of war, or subjects in wartime that violate international agreements or, as in the case of genocide, are offenses against humanity.

war criminal

noun
an offender who violates international law during times of war

In light of recent events, that have basically stated the obvious. Are we repeating history here to a larger degree? Apparently, the first Gulf war was already taken to the International War Crimes Tribunal.

This was apparently what was written about the first Gulf War and what was presented as evidence. Having said that, it seems pretty odd that no one has been arrested or even executed for such activities. We are creating a double standard that is putting our countries credibility in question. I find it disturbing that no one has seemed to point this out. It is like we have one media channel in America with no objective look at anything. The nightly news has become a propaganda tool of our government. There isn't any real news, because everyone is too busy reporting about shit that doesn't matter. Like Paris, or Anna Nicole, or anything that can distract people from reality. It is embarassing to be an American right now.

Why can't we just pass a law that if you were convicted of war crimes, you can not serve? Should not the same fate be held for those that violate international war crimes in the states? Especially since we provide countries with most of the weapons that do so. I guess we all have a extremely short memory when it comes to common sense.

"The greatest crime since World War II has been U.S. foreign policy."
Ramsey Clark

We set the example for the rest of the world. It is a shame that we are repeating mistakes of the past. You can only wag the dog so many times before the tail falls off. Every nation now has a "war on terror," that they are using to keep people in bondage and stunt democracy. Despite Ramsey's obvious slant, he points out the hypocrisy of our foreign policy. However, Ramsey fails to point out that everyone else probably minus the first world countries, have far greater crimes commited against its people. We only need to look at Africa to determine this. China would be an obvious one, as well as India. So, we can cut our war criminals a little slack. It still doesn't discount what they have done in the name of freedom, nor does it excuse the actions of those who defy the very treaties that we enacted to protect those after the second world war.
