I'm at a bit of a crossroads--the intersection of Republican at Democrat. Down one road is war mongering, the other ineptitude. Down one road is failed policy, the other policy failed. Down one road stretches the basic rights afforded to a human being, the other a fight to strip some of the freedoms reserved for all.

This should help: in the Reconstruction era, the Republican Party was the loudest voice in the passage of laws that gave recently freed African Americans the rights and privileges afforded all citizens of the country. Shortly after Reconstruction, it was a subsequent takeover of southern states by southern Democrats that enacted Jim Crow laws. Now here we are, trying to end an unpopular war, using these same Democrats as a means to that end (doesn't matter how many Democrats outside the South want it done, all are still needed to achieve actual majority votes).

I was just hoping to generate a little conversation about things amongst people by saying that. Feel free to discuss.

My first thought in regards to this is:

There are more than just Democrats and Republicans. Start researching what the other parties stand for. Just because Democrat and Republican are the "majority" parties doesn't mean you have to vote for them.

I know that, but for the purposes of this experiment we'll take a look at how a large portion of the rest of the country has been taught to think--in terms of either one or the other. It's amazing how few people will deviate from a routine when options have been presented.

Then I have nothing further to contribute to this discussion because I think outside the box. :D
