i had never created an account other than administrator on my computer until today. the new admin account got rid of everything from my old desktop and gave me a desktop that i haven't used in months (icons, programs, etc...)

anyone know how i can remedy this in some small way (or completely?)

open up explorer (windows key + e), browse to C:\Documents and Settings, find the user account you were previously using (prolly administrator), browse to the desktop directory in it. cut and paste the contents to your new desktop.

do you know how i might go about getting my firefox bookmarks?

C:\Documents and Settings\the user name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\some random characters.default\bookmarkbackups
