Hey, it DOES take a house head.
I wouldn't consider home boy to be established cuz I never heard of him and had a hard time finding anything about him. Quality is kind of a stretch since his sound lacks depth (that's what multi-trackers are for).

I did find a lot of ads and websites for sunglasses though.

Oh and guess what? IT'S EFFING HOUSE MUSIC!!!!!
That's only the single most widely listened to and aceepted genre of dance music, so NOTHING is gonna hurt the precious little show.
Also, it's at H2O... which happens to be one of MY personal favorite clubs, despite I'm afraid what's gonna happen to the place with Winston gone.
So he could get flatulent all over the microphone and people would STILL go. It's already a captured crowd.

I on the other hand, had only 13 people last week for what everybody else and their grandmother's are NOT playing, so quitchur bitchun.

Anybody from Argentina, Chicago, Miami, or any other fabricated cities in his bio is exposed to far more originality than that. It really made me wonder.

Only thing worth $7 there is the shrinking of his ego spinning with Cilly C.

Sure is funny when the locals are better DJ's than the guests. Gives me a little sense of pride. :silly:

Anybody remember Tiestos constant volume spikes, but Dave Molina actually managed to keep it consistent throughout, like he was actually watching his levels. Sloppier than a chacho nacho. God forbid fame make you slack off.

DJ Shock - you should be the last one criticizing someones music..... thats what i thought after I heard the tracks on your myspace page :D

Merrick Brown, Thomas Sahs, and Sifter & Adan are all on point. When you listen to their productions, you can hear the professional quality in the sound.

I can name the gods of producing, but I think the ones I listed are guys that are not too big and not too small.

But it's not really about who I think is good, it's about you proving your point.

That's like saying a mailbox is made to place mail in.

..... O'RLY?

Not speaking for Chris, but I've heard him, and I heard dude's tracks.
From hearing both, I would not be surprised in the least if Chris spins a better set than Jazzy Bifocals.

SO... the guy could be more deserving of $7.

But either way, ur doing the house thing at H2O... cool... decent plan for success there... just saying others you book are gonna be better than this guy.

EVERYBODY AGREE?

I agree, you obviously know good house.I also think those guys are sick and I own most of their records. Thomas rocked a boat party a couple of weeks ago and I remember him playing som tracks off Fabiens Cruise Control EP.I still don't understand why you think his sound is unprofessional/low quality. maybe because youve only heard shitty clips???

Yeah and I bet if I called MY SELF established and quality and had an ego-inflating bio... people would slam me too :happyfinger:

But I did spin those tracks Saturday night for almost 500 people, and no less of the dance floor had any change.

And I did make many of the sounds and beats myself from scratch, without the use of processed loops with flattened sound.

And I also made the bit depth sound like shit so I could fit the tracks ON myspace with their rediculous "under 6mb" requirement.

So see Albatrosses previous post about how this thread is GHEA for further feedback.

all aside, stop being so damn sensitive to everybodies replies, it makes you sound whiney. many of these guys are always gonna have the largest bottles of hateraide anyway. get used to it.

Dom, give me a break. You no doubt have never seen Fabian play.
That's ok, the way you dissect music is just as lame as your attempt to sum up Fabians production skills. My money is on Fabian.

That could very well be the case. I haven't finalized my opinion about him, because I'm keeping the shitty sound clip factor into consideration. I also take the "dance floor" factor into consideration as well.

Don't get me wrong about my judgement of everything else he does. I'm sure he is a damn good DJ and a great guy. He has residencies, performs throughout the country, and is a family man.

Okay, I'm all about people having opinions, and I think most opinions are creditible to some degree, but his producing is NOT top notch. It needs a lot of work. The sound isn't balanced, he has the same drums and bass in virtually every song, the different tracks within each song hardly vary in volume, and some of his songs have the same melody (click on http://www.stompy.com/Artist/Jazzy+Eyewear?resultpage=2 and compare "Possibility" to "Doin Wrong").

Either way, the guy is obviously a work in progress. He needs to branch from his current song structure, and maybe improve his songwriting in general. The adventure side of me wants to see him, but I don't have $7 for something I know I won't enjoy.

If Fabians production sucks so bad then why did Mark Farina chart his track in his top 10 list? Are you trying to say that someone like Mark Farina obviously doesnt know whats up w/ quality house music? Its sad to see that there is so much hate in this messageboard.I thought that the purpose of this site is to bring everyone together, for those who love and appreciate electronic dance music, whether it be trance, jungle, progessive,or house. All we want is to have people come out and have a good time. There are other parties and genres of music that i dont particularly care for, but you dont see me on there dissing other peoples events just because i think that theree party, music, or even flyers suck!Everyone complains that there is never anythng to do in this town, and finally when someone decides to step up and make something happen they get shit all over because the flyer sucks,or the DJ name sucks, or they dont like they way he looks, or the text or font on the flyer sucks, or the prices are too high or too low.Come on now the party is only $5 bucks, we didnt mean for people to start taking out loans, or pimping themselves out on the street corner just so that they could get in.God forbid we have to pay $5 just to get in.This is someone who travels all over the globe, you think that hes going to come down here for free? For the ammount that we are paying him,we could be assholes and charge $10 but we are not!If this guy is so horrible why does he own 2 of the dopest labels in house music sosoundrecordings and uma recordings.?Or why are his own productions on labels such as Aroma,Bunchlox,Lowdown, etc???

Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to say anything negative about anything, especially since you don't do it! Please forgive me.

"Everyone complains" and "finally someone decides to step up" - Wow, this is such an original statement. EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING ALL THE TIME, AND FINALLY WE HAVE A HERO COME SAVE US FROM OUR WOES!

If the flyer sucks, it sucks. If the dj's name sucks, it sucks. If you charge two different prices for girls and guys, that's fucked.

Don't expect everyone to kiss your ass just because you're trying to do something "positive" for "the scene". Not everyone does everything great the very first time... I personally think it's very important to know what people are thinking about "small things" like the flyers. The flyers are used to promote the event. It's advertising. Do you think the ads on tv or in magazines or whatever come easy? There's a lot of work put into it, so if you're going to use flyers, you should make them appealing. You should use good font, you should make it legible, you should make it appealing to the eye, you should make it create an attitude of "i wanna check this out" from the consumer.

If you're just doing it for the music... then just have plain flyers. There doesn't need to be any flashy shit if it's just about the music.

Oh wait, but you need people to go, right? It's a waste of your time and the artists time if they come out to play and no one comes. So, hmm... maybe the flyers should be well done and maybe the event should be promoted well. Maybe it should be respectable, too. To reiterate what I've said over and over, charging guys a higher cover [$7] and girls a lower cover [$5] is fucked up. That's not fair. If it's about the music, shouldn't it be the same price [at least for the 21+]? I understand charging more for minors since they can potentially be a bigger risk. But what about the music man? Why do guys have to pay $2 more to see the same show? What's up with that?

Excuse me, did the prices change? Is it $5 for everyone now? I remember reading $7 for 21+ guys, $5 for 21+ girls, and $10 for minors!

God forbid anyone pay any amount of money for some shit they don't wanna see/hear.

Or is it some charity event now? Oh, it's only $5 for 21+ girls! Whether you wanna come or not, you should come! Because it's only $5 for 21+ girls!!

I didn't say his production "sucks so bad." No I'm not trying to say that Mark Farina is unaware of house music.

I'm still learning, and I'm still in school. It's easy to call criticism hate when you are the one being criticized, but like I've said, I'm not criticizing you nor do I hate you.

And remember, this didn't start with someone saying a person was top notch, it was about the producing being top notch. I said this earlier...

Alright Dom, I've booked Thomas and Merrick two dozen times in SA, so have some trust w/Jazzy. It's not 7, it's 5bucks. If it were up to me the cover would be zero, but flights and bookings are not free. School's not the only way to drop science on music, experience plays the biggest role. come experience some qualiteeee.
