I was just talking to my parents about this yesterday. I said that we would have been much better off spending money and effort on solidifying our defenses at home instead of attacking some country (Iraq) that had nothing to do with 9/11. Now, the USA is no safer than it was before, is more in debt, and has spread its armed forces thin. And for what? So we can set off a conflict that has taken the lives of about 50,000 Iraqi civilians thus far and has created more enemies for us than we had before. Wake up, America. Wake up.

Not to say you didn't, but I predicted the same thing in 2003.

Yeah, I basically have been saying the same from the start, but it's finally becoming quite apparent to just about everyone what kind of situation we've gotten ourselves into. It's been a source of frustration ever since the beginning, but it frustrates and angers me even more that people in general do not have the foresight to see such potential consequences.

Here's a follow-up to the initial post. A recently released US intelligence report states that Iraq has become a rallying cry for global terrorism.
