DJ Alexander East will be making his second visit to

Houston on Sunday, November 6th at The Flat.
Alexander East brings a unique
flava to his sets considering that he sings while
spinning!

The Dj

Alexander East was born in Brooklyn, New York. He
taught himself to play many different musical
instruments and sing at a young age. After spending
his early years in the recording studio, he learned
how to produce and engineer his own works. He
produced music in Ohio and moved to Minneapolis
to bring life to Planet East, his own
record label. Alexander has now made a
name for himself the world over and has an
impressive discography that ranges from
collaborations with producers like David Duriez. He's
remixed tracks from Swirl People, Rick Preston, DJ
Heather, Lawnchair Generals and other various
projects on Moody, Afterhours, Gourmet, and his
label Planet East Recordings. He has recently
completed a remix of Blacksoul's "Need Love" EP
and soon to follow his own EP called "The Sun Rises
In the East." Both
due out early next year.

East has also graced various venues
from Japan to San Francisco with his tremendous
talent. His style can be summed up as an
Electro-Dark House sound. His smooth vocals over his
records ignites an evening full of infectious energy.

The Venue

The Flat is one of Midtown's newest party
destinations, located at 1701
Commonwealth near W. Gray. The Flat is known for
it's great ambiance and decor. "The earth tone
walls are comforting, the low ceilings
create a feeling of intimacy and the couches give
you the feel of being inside a friend's flat. The
artwork is local and diverse. The music is
lounge-esque but
varied. The Flat has a west coast feel that is sweet
as molasses. Parking along the adjacent streets and
at Reid's Key Shop across the street makes it easy
to get out and visit. Stop by The Flat and have a
frozen mojito and relax with your friends."
