Hey guys and gals, I just joined this forum I have 2x questions and some heat to blow off so please bear with me.....

I. I have been working hard in Houston for the past year or so...and since have not kept up with the scene however I am back and have noticed that the "IloveRaving.com" website is no longer what happened?

II. I went to U.T. and always wanted to go to Texture but now that I have a chance (more free time > graduation) it is now closed, WTF?

Why is it that any type of progressive movement in Electronica Music in Austin is always short lived, i.e. Rave Scene (airport, etc.), Texture, and 7yrs. ago the dance music station was shut down....It is a Redneck Right Wing Conspiracy....

At least we still have this website and DDM (dallas dance music) which got bought out by awesome management...

you are correct. Texture closed down about a year ago. Nightlife has always been about the trends, so its not unexpected that the clubs you went to back in the day would be shut down now . Its just the cycle of the world. Everyone stops dancing sometimes.

jamons night blakk has been going on for two years, first at plush, now relocated to barcelona

i had such great times at texture. Vibe is not same anymore, but you can still find some good music @ karma, barcelona, plush and sky. You just need to hover around the board to find the right kind of party.

just an old schooler that has lost track of number of times my favorite places closed down, reopened, changed names, closed down again. =Texture was one of my favorites= It's sadly missed, but the DJ's that made it a rage are still spinning...just have to hunt 'em down...which is easily done if you watch the boards.

it's a hip hop club now

oct-15th miguel migs at sky... i didnt know that miguel migs spins hiphop.

sky still has a few random electronic events, but it is a hip hop club on any other normal night. there's a reason the club isn't really being promoted or pushed on the website anymore.

but he can still find good events in sky. my point. end of story.

hey lady - do you know what brought about the change?

there were a ton more parties than airport..etc..etc but as far as club-life go, it seems most clubs only live from about 1 yr - 5.. check out Plush on tuesday nights...used to be a great time

I have been doing a Tuesday night house night for 4 almost 5 years now, started at Le Privilege, it closed moved to Trumans, it closed now I am at Firehouse.....6th and Brazos across from the Driskell!!
