DJ^3 BIO SPOT!
JJ Stonebraker (DJ^3) is no stranger to the electronic music scene.
Wrapping up his 9th year DJing, he has been playing parties throughout Texas
for the better part of a decade. While primarily known for his smooth blend
of Progressive Breakbeat, DJ^3 has been known to sling anything from dirty
funk to drum and bass into his sets. Boasting a respectable 12 CD's in his
discography, his most recent work "Drizzle" created a national splash in the
unsigned artist community. Earning airtime on such webcast stations as
Proton Radio and BreaksFM, the disc also received full play on 4 radio
stations across the country. Furthermore, the CD received the honors of
"Mix of the Month" in the nationally recognized publication "Feedback
Magazine." After a healthy run in the club scene, DJ^3 decided to turn his
attention to the realm of production. In 2002, he and long time musical
partner Trey Turner constructed the group's remix of Sasha's 'Wavy Gravy.'
Beyond that, a remix of The Postal Service's "Such Great Heights" as well as
an original work entitled "Forty Ounces of Frequency" have been added to his
discography. Most recently, DJ^3 has been working on a collaboration with
long time friend John Hazen. Together, the two crafted a remix of D:Fuse's
"Everything With You", which was quickly signed by System Recordings, and
more recently featured as the closing track on Micro's "Tech Mix 5."
Furthermore, other well-known artists such High Eight, Odeed and Wish, and
FFS have been giving this track a serious amount of deck time. Currently,
DJ^3 is hard at work refining his production skills and hopes to have his
first original album released within the year.
