a mac IS a pc. thats like saying ,"do you use a car, or a volvo ?"

either way, nuendo works for anything you need it to.

that's the standard way of differentiating between the two systems though.... what do you call a 'PC' then?

but like he said Steinbergs Nuendo can do it... if you want it to be lie Dolby Digital then you need this...
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid ... id/708098/
kinda pricy, plus i dunno if your dell will be able to handle it once all those Wav files are loaded in... you may need to do some upgrading.

here is nuendo's base product...

thanks for the advice.

I know there are some differences between cubase and nuendo, so is that the major feature in the two? Besides the film aspect of nuendo of course. I work primary in cubase sx and would think that when it came to the music part of things, cubase would encode just like nuendo?

nuendo is way more advanced... just look at the list of features on that page. Cubase is good if you are making solid stereo tracks for cd production.... but if you want to be making 5.1 DVD audio then you need Nuendo...

that, and (ill say it again) nuendos output is higher than that of cubase's(396k). wich = less harmonic influx off of the sound wall of 196k or whatever cubase puts out at. no, you cant hear that high (we all know that) but stray harmonics cause serious damage to lower frequencys when their "pond" isnt big enough to absorb large ripples in the dynamic makeup . i can go on.... nuendo owns-

apparently the same as cubase, tho its functionality within the program allows (i had my numbers wrong before, see the nuendo faq i posted) recordings up to 192k and out up to 384k.

Cool...the VST engine is a nice piece of programming...

I'm still stuck in DirectX land...need to install Cubase (heh, my computer would prolly crash if I even SAID the word Nuendo around it).
