Has anyone seen those commercials where there are all these clips of kids going "I helped kill a cop", "I was just having some fun". And then it says drugs support terrorism.

I am curious as to how if I smoke a joint I become a direct participant in supporting terrorism. Your thoughts on these ad compaigns?

i think there is another post in here somewhere about it... what it is trying to relate is the idea that terrorists run drugs from country to country... and you are supporting them by buying the drugs... i really dont see how this is going to work in texas... let alone any other state... just show someone whos been on drugs their entire life... at like 30... 35... that should be enough to keep kids far far from drugs

the war on drugs though causes drugs to have a 300% profit return because of demand and safety in transporting.

I thought the commercials were kinda funny, but they did find a new approach to the whole thing.... those "this is your brain on drugs -sizzle- -sizzle-" commercials got kinda worn out. They do bring up a good point though, in since like 90% or something of the drugs that we buy in the states originated outside the states. Even people that make their own forms generally buy the raw materials from someone who gets them from someone who gets them from someone who gets them from other countries. Even marijuana is shipped in in great quantities.
Don't think it'll stop anyone anymore than the egg commercials did, though. It's just always good to be aware of the consequences of your actions. :D

did anyone read that article in playboy a few months ago? it addressed those anti drug ads and how they are false and then provided alternate ads about like a DA or a congressman and they were wicked right on. if you can find that article, i suggest you read it.

yeah of course they will get punished.. but the idea that US servicemen do this... is insane... in service to the country... im all up for pumping money into the military... in tanks... transportation.. fuel... having the most badass weapons... but to turn loose a credit card with servicemen without a superior officer around is just flat out retarded... it wouldnt happen in any job... they get food... housing (cheap if not free) and now they want strippers??? get out of here... just because someone gets punished for their mistakes doesnt make it ok... they still screwed up... and its still a problem that needs to be addressed

just like to point out that in one of my past jobs someone used a company card to stop by the liquor store and pick up some liquor for a party they were having at their house.. because he forgot his wallet at home... will full intentions of paying the company back... this is just something you dont do while representing your place of employment... military... civilian...

another example... someone steals beer from our camping site... about $15 dollars worth... leaves a $20 and wonders why we are upset... its just something thats not supposed to be done

I know the cards my dad always gets have a limit on them. It's like when they send him travelling (to attend funerals and stuff like that) they estimate how much it will cost (like $4 for breakfast, $6 for lunch, etc, multiply it by the number of days gone..) there's your balance. Now, it's in his hands, so if he wants to spend it all buying a new computer (thought that would be better than sending my dad to a stripper) he can do that, but then he has to pay trip expenses out of his own pocket because they're not going to give him more money... they'd tell him he was stupid and SOL!

true people do pay taxes to put money towards a military budget that is way to high....but all that money goes to development and shit but none of it comes directly to us...I get paid less then a grand a month, and i'm sick of hearing people saying the military gets paid too much....we should be on food stamps if ya think about it....less then $12,000 a yr....that's sad....and of course there's going to be servicemen doing stupid shit....it's the fuckin world we live in....there's stupid people everywhere and somehow they get into the military....you can't expect us to be the perfect soldier in every way and form....even though I really shouldn't, i still act, talk and think the same as I did before I came into the AF....everyone thinks that shit is run perfectly here but it's not.....it's like a normal job just with a uniform and diffrent rules then most jobs....ya have your stupid supervisor's who don't know shit and u know more then them but they never listen to you cause of the whole rank issue...when that happends shit gets fucked up and makes it harder for everyone....In all my job experiances, I've never seen a more unorganized place to work at then where i work at now......I have to work a 12 hr maybe more shift tomorrow cause someone fucked up and thought that doing something would make shit ezier when really we have to put it back to how it was...the military is fucked up, people are fucked up and people join the military...simple as that..... :xwhitething:

You think the military is disorganized? Try working at MARC... (And anyone who's ever worked there knows what I'm talking about!)
