so I let someone borrow my mixer for a show last weekend, and when it was returned to be the line inputs are fucked up....I can never get full volume as compared to the phono inputs...

I used my 1st channel line input for a CD deck for intros, samples and other shit I couldnt find on vinyl, and I used channel 2 for mp3 input to play on my main stereo...so basically I need those line inputs

I currently have a Behringer DX-500, but that model has gone out of production...the currently available Behringer model is the DX-1000, it's pretty advanced for me, but the basics of the DX-500 are still there (except for the 12 second digital sampler, it was need but I never really used it anyways)

so I just wanted to get opinions on it

here's some info on it

i currently am using a behringer eurorack mx 2004. I upgraded from a tiny mackie 1204 (12 channel) Behringer ripped off mackie in everyway and used chinese labor to cut the price. I haven't had any problems with it so for and its been a year. the bigger model shouldn't be much different than the model you used to have. So if you can afford it than go for it.

hmmm...let's see...a grand for a mixer that I wont use 90% of the bells and whistles on....or $150 for a mixer I won't use 50% of the bells and whistles on

think Imma have to go with the Behringer

I'm sure it is, but why spend $50-$100 on a mixer that I got brandnew for $140?...the person who borrowed it says he's going to have someone look at it, so I'll wait and see what comes of that before I buy a new mixer

i've heard the DX1000 is a good box.. basically the same deal as the DX500 construction, just more goodies. havn't used one though.

I own a behringer compressor and have used some other behringer stuff, and they seem to be one of the better brands of inexpensive gear.

stay away from the new (VMC i think) series of behringer mixers, they havnt really been proven yet and are much more toy-like than the old DX series....
