yes, I have heard of many different concepts while in the field of psychology, but that doesn't mean that I buy into them or that they are well evidenced as having validity...one of my biggest qualms with the circuits of consciousness concept is that it seems mystical (consciousness being separate from the body; metaphysical) in nature and also seems to neglect the possibility of individuals who are naturally (as in, before ever taking psychedelics) capable of understanding beyond that of almost all other men (what you would call being in a higher circuit of consciousness)...yes, psychedelics can assist in realization of truths, but I firmly believe it is the natural brilliance already found inside of someone that is being helped along even further when they are used for that purpose (mostly through weakening emotional barriers/biases and altering perspectives)

i know what you mean; some theories in psych are speculative at best

but it is a bit curious that the 8-fold model of consciousness pretty much parallels Plato's table of virtues

There cannot really be a conflict between genuine religion and true science. If there seems to be such a conflict, we are likely dealing with "bogus religion" and/or "bogus science"

They scheduled it, damn. I had a wild night on that one time. Wanted to give it another go around. My one experiance with it, was psychedelic for a while. I felt dissociated from my body for a while I don't know how long, could have been 1 minute, 30, or an hour not really to sure. But I was definately not at the party for a while. Good experiance for me lots of intensity, fun times.
