So, as some of you were aware, I recently moved back to Lufkin. I've been out of work a little over a month, mostly because I was just taking a break. I've worked almost non-stop for the past 10 years in social services and CPS, and I haven't been on a vacation in about 7 years or so.

I got word that I am the new Educational Coordinator for the Texas Forestry Museum!

If you know anything about me, this is badass. First, I'm a history freak, and, second, my father worked for the Texas Forest Service for almost 40 years, and my brother still works with them.

Pretty damn perfect if you ask me...

I love my job. I just wish they paid me more and stopped trying to cut my hours.

I will be heading up all their community outreach programs to schools and whatnot, as well as organizing summer youth programs and educational outings for community programs.

They do multiple summer camp-type programs over the summer for kids from all over the region. All meant to educate them on the history of forest product management, rural firefighting, and the overwhelming need for continued support of the forestry industry.

I might also have some say in some of the new exhibits they set up, as well.

Pretty awesome.
