i keep having issues with my fans getting knocked off alignment i'm assuming. lots of clicking and whirring sounds that should not be there.

is this something i should just try to take care of myself or should i go the smart route and send it in for warranty repair?

also is this a common problem for 17" laptops or a toshiba thing or what?

fans shouldn't get knocked out of alignment...probably dust/smoke causing it. blow it out good w/ compressed air in short bursts. if you can take the outer case off to do it. then stop smoking around it.

word i'll give that a shot.

not smoking around the laptop, although a great idea, would be quite the feat for me. especially while playing records or making tunes.

i'll try.

try to set up a fan that sucks the smoke away from the area of the laptop and blow it out once a week.
