if i was a country that was going to be invaded by another country with much more weapons and resources, and that country wanted me to get rid of any weapons i had that wouldnt necessarily even defeat them, but delay the super strong country. i would keep my weapons and not tell anyone that i had it.

Saddam invaded Kuwait, killed thousands of Kuwaiti civilians and then got the shit kicked out of him. He lost, he agreed to terms, he then lied.

it would also make sense that if you got your ass kicked in war... that you would abide by the terms of the cease fire to prevent your country getting your ass kicked again... so instead of slowing down an invading force... you prevent it completely and hold on to your current way of life...

I find it funny how Sadam keeps trying to bring the UN in to keep the US out when it was the UN who agreed that he no longer deserves the right to certain types of weapons...weapons that have flown since the attack.

yes he invaded iraq. yes he lied about having weapons.

what i am saying is that saddam knew that the us was going to attack him regardless of what the un inspectors reported, actually regardless of what the un as a whole said.
the us made it very clear what their intentions were.

so OF COURSE saddam lied about having weapons at that point. he knew he would need those weapons to defend iraq.

if Saddam had disposed of the weapons like he was supposed to AND provided proof of it, the US would have no reason to go to war

then the us starts attacking (verbally) iraq. saying that iraq needs to be disarmed no matter what, blah blah...we all know the story.

what im saying is that once the us starting verbally attacking iraq, it was very clear that no matter what resolution the un decided on, the us was going to invade iraq. so no shit saddam didnt disarm then, he needed those weapons when the americans came.
