I install it, I run it, and the program exits out, giving me this error:

Code:
STOP: This is isn't a database.

No, there is no typo, that's exactly what it said. Has anyone else got this? Does anyone have a clue as to what I should do?

First, take a bottle of mountain dew. Then get Strong Bad's computer. Apply liberally.

No addons, no patches. I'll go get the patches to see if that fixes anything, but I'm running:

AMD Athlon XP 1700+
398 MB RAM
GF4 MX 440 64MB

I got it to work a few months ago, but I don't remember how. BOH!

Patches no work. They tell me "file size does not match" so they don't patch. I actually do own the retail version, but a few months ago when I copied the CD's so that we could play on both computers at my house, the only problem I had was that it didn't identify as the real CD(dur, didn't see that comin) but it played fine. Now neither sets of CD's are working. Rar! :pirate:

I'm getting the same error. I've had mechwarrior uninstalled for a while (9 months) and just put it back on my PC this week. And I got this frustrating "is isn't a database error"

I found this thread through goolge, it's almost comforting to know I'm not the only one getting the error.

I still haven't found a solution, but I'm looking.

The microsoft page has some suggestions.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... s%3B286467

But it boild down to uninstall and reinstall. After doing that 6-7 times I'm beginning to doubt its effectiveness.

If I find a solution I'll post it here. Just wanted to let you know you aren't alone in your "is isn't a database" woes.

Holy SHIT you just totally necro'd a three year old post of mine. :badteeth:

I don't know if I ever got this fixed, so I'm not sure I can help you despite my experience with the problem.

Here's to the old days! :tbn:
