DJ extraordinaire Mark Rae and his vocalist, Veba are coming to Austin, Thursday October 7th. The member of Rae & Christian has an upcoming solo record, Into the Depths that rocks the party and causes your body to move in ways you didn't think possible.
Mark Rae, DJ, producer, re-mixer, record label owner and artist, is there anything the man can't do. With his new record, Rae adds lead vocalist to his long list of credits. On the last track on his new solo record, Into the Depths, Rae sings lead for the first time.
This new record is a departure from his earlier projects with Rae & Christian. With Into the Depths, Rae relies on musicians and vocals more than samples. "You won't find any sampling on my records like the old days. I prefer to remake the sounds with real musicians and instruments and play with them as they are much easier to control and make louder, crisper, clearer sounds," said Rae to Mix Mag.
Most of the album was recorded on vintage equipment. Rae wanted to get specific sound for the album, and felt by recording on older equipment, they could achieve the right sonic quality. The maturity of the writing is brought together with the production and recording techniques.
