Dunno, but I understood it was something to do with particulate size. Burning tobacco creates smaller carcinogenic particles which get deeper into the lungs and can't be dislodged, while marijuana particles are larger and less likely to become lodged. Who know's for sure...?

I've also heard the argument that deeper inhaling and longer holding of marijuana smoke negates the reduced damage from not smoking physically as much substance. Who knows....?

your body neutralizes the tar of marijuana smoke much faster than ciggarette smoke. pot smokers cough up black shit. ciggarette smokers just cough. i can smoke a joint and run a mile no problem... but throw a cig in the mix and im walking with a cramp.
