no, i'm not telling you that, it's the tag line for a new anti marijuana commercial that's got to be one of the most ridiculous ones i've seen so far. here's how it goes:

2 teenage boys are smoking pot in what appears to be one of the boy's father's home office. nice desk, etc. one boy is sitting at the desk, one in a big chair on the other side.

one kid says something stupid to the other. no big deal. fade out, fade back in. one kid says something else stupid to the other. typical stupid pot shit.

so i think this is heading towards "pot is a waste of your time, this is what you look like", etc...

so then fade back in, the kid at the desk pulls out what is presumably his father's handgun. dude on the other side of the desk says 'is it loaded?'. dude with the gun says 'no', pulls the trigger and shoots the other kid.

at this point i'm just thinking 'what -- the -- fuck'

then the tag line 'marijuana distorts your sense of reality'.

i don't even know what to say really. quite possibly the most ludicrous anti drug ad i've ever seen.

Yeah I saw it. It's like reefer madness all over again. I stopped believing anti-drug commercials when I found out they were funded by the government. I mistrust all governments on principle.

It's my friend in the school parking lot during the day and the camera appears to be getting closer to him. The camera man asks, "excuse me sir, do you smoke cigarettes!?"

i think the problem with the argument for marijuana is that people are always comparing it to alcohol, and talking about how alcohol is so much worse, and yet it's still legalized.

yes, these commercials are bullshit. but no, the govt is not going to legalize something based on the argument that it's not as BAD as some other things.

The only reason alcohol is legal (and remember, at one time, it too was illegal) is because it's a more "socially acceptable" drug. Society says alcohol is OK because it's use has been going on for centuries. Given time, marijuana will become legal as well.

The moral of the story is,,,don't leave a loaded gun near or around a computer that somebody who possibly smokes weed could possibly be around, because they may pick the gun up point it at a friend and pull the trigger. Well that's what I told the jury atleast.

The only reason alcohol is legal, is because the societies that "discovered" and founded this country brought alcohol with them as a religious sacrament; it's as American as apple pie; the practice of smoking marijuana was introduced by mexican immigrants, and soon spread to black dock workers (so it was viewed as a "foreign practice", and the alcohol industry was a monopoly, and didn't want any kind of competition, even from this "foreign practice")....I did a paper on this my freshman year.

In Muslim cultures, their sacrament is hashish and indica.....theirs isn't a violent culture (except for the radical religious fanatics); their concept of time is just different (go figure)

Hell, when I take apart my shotgun and the barrell is off, I don't even point THAT in anyone's general direction.

Seriously.... that's why I don't smoke it. I tried it once at a friends and passed out... woke up in the middle of the night to puke EVERYWHERE.... woke up in the morning and half my clothes were missing (i'd gotten sick on them so one of my friends had taken them away to clean them, but still, I never noticed them being taken off). That's never happened to me no matter how much alcohol I've had to drink.

It's generally not a good idea to smoke weed when you're already tanked.
