not logical man- nuendo on a proper pc will beyond a shadow of a doubt provide a deeper grid of manipulatable functions , as well as more reasonable visual interface. If you make electronic music, nuendo owns you , wether you know it or not .

Well, I have never used nuendo, and maybe for some things, it is better. Overall, it is hard to argue with what logic 7 offers. For starters, it's $999 vs. nuendo's $1400.

You get 3 virtual intruments with nuendo you get 34 with Logic.

You get 35 audio plugins vs. logic's 70.

Music producers could care less about 10.2 surround sound, and as for the way it looks.. or looking reasonable, whatever that means... Apple makes logic now:

Please point out what is better about nuendo that is useful to a music producer... seriously, I have no idea, this is just what I could compare using the companies tech sheets on the programs. I don't know about busses and sends and shit between the two progs, but you should read about logic 7 if you have not... it really is amazing what they have done with it.

From what I understand Nuendo's audio rendering engine is Steinberg's new flagship.

Oh, and anyone who thinks that the stock plugins on ANY DAW program are what you should use, should really be slapped.

I could care less what stock plugins / instruments that Logic comes with, I wouldn't use 'em anyway.

ok dude.. gues you have never heard logic's plugins or synths. Not everyone pirates all their software. I mean shit, when it comes down to it, pro-tools, plus waves, plus a sequencer plus all the native intstruments synths would be great.. but not everyone has like 5k to spend on software.

For $1000 you get a SHIT LOAD of really good stuff. When emagic owned logic they charged extra for all the plugins it comes with now, and to get the software instruments and plugins would have cost about 2-3k.. can't remember. Apple said screw it, and included everything.

Perhaps this is a silly question... But is Logic still purely Mac based? I heard a while back that Emagic was only going to be releasing Logic for the Mac. Just thought I'd ask.

I haven't used Logic in quite some time but it was definitly a healthy sequencer when I did try my hand it. Whatever helps you make great music is okay in my book. =)

Yeah, it's Mac only now. Apple bought emagic. Logic 5.5 was the last pc version.

yea but if you translate the cost into hardware that would accomplish the same task, the price of nuendo + all the other things mentioned would be in the same price range as logic anyway. im not saying logic is useless, but nuendo IS the real deal. ... and to the person that asked for info to back this up , please refer to a thread i started called "nuendo" . i tried to get it sticky for everyone because i think everyone should be aware of its capabilities.

also a note on pirated software.. if you cant afford to pay for it anyway, using it until you CAN pay for it will not affect the financial status of the company wich distributes that software. usually my rule is , spend any money i make off of records on software. its not like you are sucking up a resource. its copied data. just be honest and pay for it when you have the money. its what you would have done anyway, regardless of wether or not youve been using it.

Since you are so familiar with Nuendo, I would still like to see a comparison based on the data you can find on Apple's site. I have neither, so I can't really say, but I am always looking to expand my knowledge base.

All in all, we all know it doesn't matter much cause it comes downs to making good music, but for the sake of discussion.... let's compare features (for making music.)

On the pirated software bit: I could go either way and genreally agree with you more than not. Unfortunately, Logic has not been cracked on a Mac to my knowledge. I mean, anything CAN be, but I have not seen it done. Not a big enough market I guess.

Chemical Brothers, BT, and Benny Benassi all use Logic.
