Why are they so popular around here? I don't understand why people think they are so great? I respect the do-it-yourself business they do, but something about them I don't like. Before I start bashing them let me say that I think grouch, scarub, murs and eligh are great emcees. Maybe it's the shitty production that makes them sound so boring. Shit, murs's new album on def jux sounds better than anything he's ever done before cause rjd2, el-p, and ant did the production. Maybe it's because out of all the releases they put out none of them have ever came out with a classic solo album. maybe it's because sometimes they ruin good songs with corny lines...iono.

i dont know why (or if) they are popular... but if you are talking about the hip hop group Living Legends then i know that i heard them playing in a record store recently and they sounded good

sometimes it does not have to be the greatest muscially to be appealing. You can feel their energy and they seem like real folks. I always liked the journeyman because of some of their "out there" lyrics. Just off the wallness with raw beats. I know you could make half of them with a 4-track and a casio, but in a way, that is why I like it. Weird.
