Okay, I'm all about people having opinions, and I think most opinions are creditible to some degree, but his producing is NOT top notch. It needs a lot of work. The sound isn't balanced, he has the same drums and bass in virtually every song, the different tracks within each song hardly vary in volume, and some of his songs have the same melody (click on http://www.stompy.com/Artist/Jazzy+Eyewear?resultpage=2 and compare "Possibility" to "Doin Wrong").

Either way, the guy is obviously a work in progress. He needs to branch from his current song structure, and maybe improve his songwriting in general. The adventure side of me wants to see him, but I don't have $7 for something I know I won't enjoy.

The tracks are made for djs to be heard on the dancefloor....not sombody sitting at a computer clicking on 30 second clips listening through their headphones. But I am glad you took the time to nitpick every song so that you could to prove your OPINION!!! Please give me an example of what you would consider top notch because my opinion and taste in music is obvously not credible.

Everyone is a work in progress but I think the record sales, DJ support and thriving record labels speak for themselves.

Thats just great....I don't think anyone was begging you to go. I know it's real easy to shit on someones event when you don't throw any events yourself. Really, where are your manners????There are alot of djs that come through that I don't like but you don't see me giving the promoter my 2 cents everytime I don't like something. Plese show some common courtesy to peeps that are trying to do something positive in this city becuase there is no room for negativity in our scene. There are plenty of househeads who will come out and dance their asses off to these QUALITY djs so if youre really conflicted about comin off $7 to explore your adventerous side I'll put you on the guest list. You never know ... you might like it.

Try this link- plus I heard a promoter tell me this weekend in Houston. I asked him to explain... and got nowhere.

But MICHAEL DEGRACE...a must see. My favorite afterhour DJ period.

Woah woah woah... I don't see anything wrong with proving an opinion or even having one. I made an argument, and I provided evidence. So instead of me providing examples of what I think is good producing, why don't you tell me why you think this guy's producing is top notch? I already know your opinion, but I don't know why you have that opinion.

Furthermore, I wasn't attacking your credibility, because music is subjective. If you like his music, that's cool, but it's one thing to say you like someone's music; it's another thing to make a statement about the production quality where it's no longer subjective. Songwriting and producing can be measured objectively, which is how I approached his music, because when I see "the guys production is top notch," I gave his music a whirl and found his production to be similarly opposite.

Even if you think I don't have the authoritative credibility to give an opinion, I provided evidence that's true, relevant, and sufficient. The way I see it, that's something that makes a person credible.

The characteristics of the music are not fully developed or established; he needs to learn more about songwriting, because the repitition of sounds from song-to-song shows he can improve in this area; and, most importantly, his songs have progressed in quality from his early works to his new works, which means that he is getting better. That is why I said he is a work in progress. Know what I mean?

I don't know where you got the idea that I was bad-mouthing the event. I didn't say anything about the promoter either. Like I said, I don't think there's anything wrong with having an opinion, proving it, and voicing it. Opinions don't ruin things.

Albeit, my comment "well he is the most notorious up and coming producer" was pointing out poor word choice, I wasn't making inflammatory remarks at any point in this thread.

Just to set the record straight, this is a better link for his music...
http://www.djdownload.com/artist/Jazzy+Eyewear/96946

Either way, why do you think his producing is top notch?

I haven't even read the majority of the post. I haven't even listened to whomever is being "discussed", but I will say, DOM IS CREDIBLE! :goldstar:

Also, hyping something up only works well when you have a bunch of people doing it! CREATE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS!!!

He is not notorious. LIAR.

P.S. PART TWO:

When I see that a place is charging different prices for girls+guys 21+ and then a seperate price for minors, it tells me something:

Joke.

leann - what experience do you have with setting prices for events? please, just sit back and watch dom type. he can stick up for himself. with the exception of not realizing that crod was in the right when he asked dom to be courteous, dom has done just fine for himself without you licking his trail

First, you must not have caught onto my joke about free for 21+.

Second, I think it's pathetic when the price is different for girls and guys.

I am in this thread BECAUSE of Dom, so if you've got a problem with me being here... oh wait, no one cares.

And since when is TBn courteous? *looks around*

Are you lost, Sapp?

I know all about courteousness, but I don't understand how I was rude or disrespectful. Who was supposed to be taken into consideration in this thread? How did I not take that person into consideration? Why am I perceived as discourteous? That has to be explained to me.

your 21+ joke was not funny

again, you have no experience setting prices for events. just cause you think one way or another is pathetic doesnt mean it is not a good idea. (yes dom, i know that's a double negative)

i know you're in this thead because of dom. im telling you to let your little schnukems take care of himself. he knows how to hold his ground, even when he is in the wrong.

tbn has never been courteous, you're right. but is that your excuse for your little schnukems' rudeness?

if dom needs any help from you in this matter, it's for you to tell him he's being rude, as crod already told him

My joke was funny.

Setting a lower price for girls is obvious that they want to encourage girls to come so more guys will come... and wait a minute, what does that have to do with this guy and his music? Am I missing something here? He can take my opinion and do what he wants with it. Just like I can put my opinion here, if I so desire. I don't need any prior experience with setting prices for an event to know that. Nor do I need experience with setting prices for an event to have an opinion on it.

The TBn courtesy thing was also me kidding around.

I'm not defending Dom nor am I backing him up on anything nor am I excusing him of any sort of 'behavior'.

Stop getting so caught up in us [Dom and I] dating so therefor if I post in the same thread as him, I am only posting in the thread as his backup or to defend him, Jesus christ. :dom:

If this guy didn't want any opinions/feedback on this guy/event/flyer, then he shouldn't have posted it in a discussion forum.

For grammar, "just cause you think one way or another is pathetic doesnt mean it is not a good idea" might serve better as "just cause you think one way or another is pathetic doesn't make it a bad idea." I would even put a modifier in between "doesn't" and "make," but that's probably just a personal value. ALso, it's better to say what something is rather than say what something is not. :silly:

For the record, I can hold my ground when I'm in the wrong or in the right, because I know how to make concession in discourses. However, I still don't see how there is a wrong or right in this situation, especially in terms of manners.
