Dearest sch1 and/or crod [or whomever it may concern],

Here is my opinion, do with it what you wish.

I don't like the photos you put of this guy on the flyer. The front flyer picture creeps me out and looks like he's trying to be "sexy" or something. The back flyer picture is also not appealing to me. I do not like the dj's name [dj mood] or the jazzy eyewear thing. The grammar and word usage in the biography on the flyer makes me cringe. I think the biography is poorly written. I like the font for 'jazzy eyewear' on the front flyer. I also like that the flyer is blue. I find the white font with blue shadow difficult to read, although it does work visually it does not work well with me when I am trying to read it. I do not like that the prices for girls+guys are different. I think that is a pathetic attempt to encourage girls to come which by default will encourage boys to come. I think that sends a bad message. I think the background stamps are unnecessary and distracting. I think the flyer would look better without them.

I think you can do better. Good luck.

kthx.

you're not defending dom? your first post in this thread says 'dom is credible'. is that not defending him?

i know this is a msg board and yeah people come here to discuss things. but in an events forum, it's rude to do what dom did. these guys are right when they say that the scene doesnt need that negativity. it's all good to have an opinion (something the two of you love about yourselves), but there's a time and a place, ya know

lol dom, you're funnier than your girl. so let's let this thread get back on course, ya?

No, I'm not defending Dom.

Blah blah blah... negativity can not be stopped nor can opinions.

I love how you keep sucking Dom's dick. It turns me on. :djhoe: :orly:

P.S.

This is NOT an events forum. Although, yes, it is usually used as such.

Either way, why do you think his producing is top notch?

On the internet, when a person can't back up their assertions, they conceal their previous comments by attacking the character of others. Ad hominem is a crutch for people who can't answer the questions about their accusations and can't participate in legitimate contentions originating from their own opinion.

It's funny how you preach about negativity while making sarcastic comments when confronted with contrary ideas. What is negative about someone giving a valid opinion supported by his or her reasoning, or, better yet, two people comparing and contrasting their ideas? Is any of that rude or discourteous? The conversations in the event threads on this message board (as well as all other music message boards) are the same conversations held outside the message board. There is only one difference: a larger and relatively anonymous audience. What's wrong with that?

I still don't know how manners and courteousness are involved in this. If you mean courtesy is not asking questions about what someone is trying to sell, that's asinine. That unquestioning attitude is dangerous; it isn't encouraged for the sake of courtesy, it's encouraged for the sake of someone else's profit. As a skeptical person, I frequently challenge the claims made by flyers and people. I examine and question what someone is attempting to sell. I get the information, form my own opinion, and voice my opinion.

I'm not out to sabotage the artist or the event. My intentions aren't to undermine or insult you. All I want to know is why you think that guy is good at producing.

dom - ive already said everything i wanted to say, but here it is in other words. btw, i agree with your last post.

what i dont agree with is when/where you voice your opinion. the purpose of this thread is to get information out about the event - to promote it. that means positive stuff. your negative comments undermine this objective, which is rude. people are entitled to their opinion, and they are certainly entitled to express it (and you do so much better than most - leann, this tastes good!), but there are some situations in which it is more appropriate than others.

all im saying is that other than the extra views this thread is going to get from this back and forth shit, the promoters are probably not stoked about your comments. they're valid, but would be more welcome elsewhere. you just need to get off your overly democratic 'i can do/say what i want' mentality and think a second about the repercussions.

Wow. Sapp, you have some ridiculous expectations... especially from a messageboard.

Actually I always thought that it was better to say "It is not that it is not"

i.e. It is not that it is not that the DJ name of "Jazzy Eyeglasses" is about the biggest piece of shit and unimaginative DJ name I've ever heard in my life ... etc.

things I have learned from this thread:

1. that guy looks like a real mook.
2. Sapphari doesn't understand how internet messageboard operate.
3. that guy looks like a real mook.

People, please show a little bit of class and keep your negative comments to yourselves. The purpose of this show is to bring established quality house DJ's to San Antonio (regardless of their name or looks...lol). we know we cannot please everyone and that is not our intention. we are simply trying to provide a bumpin night of house music for those who enjoy Fabians and others style of house tracks.

What repercussions?

The reaction I'm getting from my eloquently expressed opinion is something I would expect if I defaced the e-flyer with a dirty sanchez mustache and locked the thread.

I think we can all agree that you are very well spoken. instead of locking the thread I think you should erase it. certain people have invested lots of time and money in this show. your rude and negative feedback only hinders the success of our show.

Negative feedback doesn't hinder the success of a show, and I don't think you could want to explain why it does given that you won't even explain why you think Jazzy Eyewear is a good producer. Don't worry. All my supposed bad vibes, bad manners, and rudeness aren't going to manifest itself in other people. The show will be okay, and if it isn't, you can come back here and explain why I'm accountable.

Dom's totally right.

Idunno, maybe it takes a house-head, but it does all sound the same. It's like his tracks all came off the same cookie cutter assembly line.
Anybody from Argentina, Chicago, Miami, or any other fabricated cities in his bio is exposed to far more originality than that. It really made me wonder.

Only thing worth $7 there is the shrinking of his ego spinning with Cilly C.

Sure is funny when the locals are better DJ's than the guests. Gives me a little sense of pride. :silly:

Anybody remember Tiestos constant volume spikes, but Dave Molina actually managed to keep it consistent throughout, like he was actually watching his levels. Sloppier than a chacho nacho. God forbid fame make you slack off.

I've played his tracks at numerous gigs and the crowd reaction is very positive. Yes some of his tracks sound similar but you must take into account that he is producing house music and having a distinct sound is a trademark of almost every producer in edm. I happen to like the stuff he produces and it sounds great on a proper sound system.

i don't think cilly c would share the same sentiments. his tracks are made to be mixed by a dj.
