Call TekSystems. Apparently they need a job filled quick, contract-to-hire, $25 an hour.

I seem to remember somebody around here looking for a job lately, but I forget who it was... and that's damn easy work for $25 an hour. I guess the market is pretty good these days!

depends on what you consider easy..

if you are adding, deleting users, modding groups.. then yes easy.

building an entire SOX/PCI compliant structure from nothing is not. :nerdl:

$25 is kinda low for a contract position unless it's crazy over time (but then, that could also suck depending on the craziness).

we aren't talking about senior level shit here man, we're just talking about building an automated backup system. $25 an hour is damn good for an entry level position in austin.

backups and active directory are 2 different things.

why write a backup system when you can just use netbackup, quickrestore, networker or backupexec?

25$ sounds good, but if you have to pay your own medical, it kinda blows.

the fact that you can even get on the internet, send email and post messages on a message board still puts you way ahead of most people.

besides.. computers get really fucking old when you sit in front of them 65+ hours a week, or every weekend for 5 weeks, starting sunday 10pm sat, and then going home 11am sunday.

It's higher than the national average starting comp. sci salary, but whatever.

I know there's probably better ways than active directory to do this, but apparently that's what this company wants.
