I enjoy going to the movies and thought I would post my personal opinions. I still cant believe Across the Universe is not showing anywhere in Texas :( Does anybody have any information as to when this movie will be released in this darn state!?! The Palladium has been showing the previews for this movie for the past 5 months and now they say they might not ever get the movie! 8O

It seems Great Hills Cinema is the only theatre in Austin that plays the obscure films. It's where I had to see Scanner Darkly when it was first released. Across the Universe sounds like a very creative film, and since it mentioned the 60s and the Beatles, I will probably watch it at some point.

Fuuuuck, Eastern Promises was gnarly. Viggo did an outstanding job with his Russian speaking and accent. Wow.

Oh yeah, I keep seeing ads and reviews for Across the Universe like it's going to play here in Texas. I'm wondering if they'll do a limited release first like they did with "In the Valley of Elah."

The HeartBreak Kid was good. Ben Stiller was funny but his Dad is FREAKIN hilarious! :D

You^ and I will be forever at odds. I thought Heartbreak Kid was weak, it seemed like the Farrelly brothers were trying to be too much like Judd Apatow with attempts to make cute one-liners, overly shocking situations, and catchphrases that seemed to fall a little flat. And what was up with his wife and her man face?!?? I think Rob Cordry was the movie's saving grace.

Is it just me or has every single Farrelly Brother's movie just gone down hill after "Me, Myself, and Irene."

Not so much. I dont think it was great what so ever but I did pay money to see it and I laughed a little. I expected more from the Farrelly brothers. I guess I meant good in the way...this movie was much better then Good Luck Chuck.

watched 1408 yesterday. not bad, but they should have used the ending where he died.

i'm fairly certain this has been discussed here already.

OK now I can agree with you.

I also totally agree about Across the Universe. The first 15-20 minutes I knew what was coming but I was like "ok when the fuck are these people going to stop singing and get to the story?!?!" Really enjoyed the movie overall though, great visual presentation and putting a new spin on some old songs. Did anyone else think that Sadie chick is Janis Joplin reincarnated?

Negative ghostrider......

Just saw this last night.
LOVED IT.

Granted it's a musical, so the plot is kinda elongated in the beginning, but all of it, visual effects, imagery, acting. I left in a :plur: state of mind.
