E. 4th Blend to Present a Musical Melting Pot During SXSW

As the yearly SXSW pandemonium draws near, They Will Come Productions, Art Official, and Mofoz Visuals are pleased to announce the E. 4th Blend, a multifaceted musical showcase featuring a versatile mix of national acts and the region’s hottest young talents. The event will take place Saturday, March 15, from noon until 2 a.m. at the Compound, located at 1300 E. 4th St. Admission is free.

In keeping with Austin’s storied tradition of unbridled creativity and celebrated weirdness, the E. 4th Blend will present artists from a variety musical styles, including hip hop legends QN5 All- Stars, Brooklyn's Pack FM and Substantial, Austin Freestyle Champions Zeale and Phranchyze performing with San Antonio's own jazz masters Groove Movement, and Dallas Hip-hop legends Clever Monkeys who have recently suffered a huge loss with the death of DJ Frantic. Also playing are dub/ punk/ rock stars Lifeline from Huntington Beach, CA , local bluegrass favorites Green Mountain Grass and provocative freak folksters The Blue Hit.

In addition to the musical acts, the E. 4th Blend will showcase the talents and abilities of the local production companies involved with the event. They Will Come Productions, Art Official and Exit Music Group, despite being relatively new to the scene, have already begun to establish themselves in the Austin area as production visionaries, producing numerous successful concerts and festivals with a unique artistic approach that allows their events to transcend the traditional expectations associated with the live music experience.

The event will also be used to increase public awareness of the HBMG Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes the creative process through sponsored programs to provide educational, networking, and financial resources for the artistic community.

The Compound is a large open-air venue located just blocks from downtown in Austin's lively east side. Its large size and laid-back atmosphere allows patrons to converse and network while still providing a dynamic concert experience. The venue has a capacity of
499 people, and there is adequate parking in the surrounding area. Food and drinks will be provided by the Root Cellar Café, Snow Queen Vodka and Austinmenus.com.

About They Will Come Productions:

They Will Come Productions was born out of several elaborate parties and concerts held at the Ball Farm in Lytton Springs, Tx. As the events grew in both size and artistic magnitude, the company was formed out of both organizational necessity and a vision to take the creative experience that happened on the farm to a larger audience. Their first official event was the Oxblood Masquerade Music and Arts Festival, a 3-day camping festival over Halloween weekend whose success and unique vibe established the company as a prominent force in the Austin live music scene. Since then they’ve hit the ground running, working with HBMG to help produce the First Street Bridge stage at the 2007 First Night Austin festival.

About Art Official:
Art Official is a prominent production and management company in the Austin area known for producing successful shows at Antone’s and Stubb’s BBQ. They also provide management and legal representation for burgeoning hip hop stars Zeale and Phranchyze, who recently secured starring roles in Todd Graff’s major motion picture “Will”, starring David Bowie and Lisa Kudrow.

About E.X.I.T. Music Group:
EXIT Music Group is a new Austin production company that is currently making big waves in the Austin live music scene. Last December their EXIT Music Festival, which featured Blues phenom Gary Clark Jr., successfully united music and art for an unforgettable night at the Mercury Hall. They are currently planning a huge summer music extravaganza at Waterloo Park.

About Mofoz Visuals:
Mofoz Visuals have been a key figure in Texas hip hop for years, renowned for creating innovative art and fashion through custom dunks and graffiti displays throughout Central Texas.
