Recently, I had some serious problems with one of my boxes at home. The problem is that because my house has hard-wood floors, it also tends to have a lot of dust in the air. Basically, dust killed my IDE bus which really sucks because not only did it fry all my hard drives with noise, but now I have to replace the motherboard too.

My question is, are there any gadgets out there for computers that reduce dust that aren't too expensive? Or am I just going to have to take my computer apart once a week and dust it?

Yeah! this sounds goofy but i red it in maximum pc. All u gotta do is take a swiffer cloth or somthing like that from wallgreens, and just tape it over any fans u have, also id just get an aircan and dust the hell out of it every month, i just do that and my computer is not dusty, but try the swiffer pads, they work!

best of luck!

other then dusting it and dusting away from the intake vents there isn't much you can do. Is it on the floor? Do you have room to put it on your desk?

the spray air cans are the way to go... photo supply stores have 'em and they're relatively cheap.

although spray them level, or else the first thing that comes out is (dry ice?),.. not really conducive to cleaning vents in your computer.

I use an air compressor in my garage to dust my shit. Works like a charm.
