Ok, I want to hear some first hand accounts from the pluggers. Ever had any irritation after plugging a pill or a burning sensation...what if there's something in the pill that could cause infection...has anybody considered any of that? Also, do you actually get more out of the pill that way or is it just a myth?

Yes, it does burn. Usually, however, after 20 - 30 minutes you don't notice it.

As far as I understand, the reason that it does make better use of the chemicals is because the lining of the rectum is much thinner and there are more nerve endings allowing the contents of the pill to enter the blood stream quicker and with less "wasted" on digestion.

As far as if the effects are stronger, the couple of times I had done it, had been after not taking extacy for a few months beforehand, so I cannot say if it has a greater effect, though it did seem more "potent".

As far as infection, I am not aware of any negative effects like that, but that doesn't mean the potential isn't there.

besides, the mechanism through which "rolling" takes place is one that cannot be sped up simply by getting it into your blood faster. sure thats a part of it, but the ion gradients and exchange of the chemicals in your synapses occurs at a pretty much set speed.

Now -- I'll give my thoughts. If you're SOOOOOO damn desperate to get a better roll, why not lay off for a couple of months, take 5-HTP, eat foods high in tryptophans, relax and do things conducive to reestablishing serotonin levels and lowering your tolerance. When you're at the point where you're considering sticking something up your ass because a drug has lost its magic, maybe it's time to cut back... just my thoughts.

Not that I can answer the original question (because my ass too, is a exit only, and I haven't done anything but drink for the past two years) but there is a vast difference between "can I get swag at 9am" and answering someones question as to wether or not it stings/is it a myth? IN the proper forum I might add! It is far different and does not denote this supposed double standard.

Thanks, Dave... it's my personal opinion that people be allowed to do whatever they want with their own bodies, but with that freedom to do so comes a responsibility to do so intelligently, I think. If you've become so die-hard on getting off with a drug that you cannot wait a while to "recharge" so that the next experience is a good one, then that drug controls you and your life. Personally, I don't like not being in control of my life. And I also never liked paying 25-30 dollars for enough beer to get me drunk -- solution -- wait three months before drinking, and voila! I was a six-pack drunk again.

Of course, I gave that up years ago for different reasons, but the principle is still the same.

here's the difference:

a question about the physical effects of using a drug in the harm reduction forum qualifies as a reasonable inquiry regarding, what else, harm reduction.

asking where you can get weed at 9 am, whether it's a joke or not, in the general discussion forum no less, doesn't qualify as harm reduction.

the point of harm reduction is this: tbn doesn't condone drug use, but we realize that regardless of various laws, effects, etc, some people will use drugs no matter what. harm reduction is about informing people about the drugs they may choose to use so that if they do choose to use them, they can be as safe as possible, or at least more fully know what they're getting into.

imo, and in line with general harm reduction strategy, letting someone know how a drug effects you, methods of delivery, main effects, side effects, etc, is a positive step in keeping them safe if they choose to use, which we already admit will happen no matter what laws are passed or what effects a drug has.

as i see it, plugging is simply a matter of economics.

Lets say said pill has 100mg mdma in it.

(these are NOT scientific figures, just ballparks for purpose of my point)

And lets say orally, the total 'used' mdma is maybe 33% of the pill. (the other portion is destroyed or otherwise lost in the digestion process)

Rectally, lets suppose the total used amount is 66%

Now, regardless of "you should take a break" or "your hurting your synapse and receptors etc etc etc" a person could do two things.

Either buy 2 pills and take them orally....
Or buy one pill and take it rectally. And get comparable effects.

Now yes, i acknowledge these percentages are not scientific, however, just from anecdotal evidence I would wager maybe rectally is 50% more effective than orally?

Either way, I just see it as bang for your buck.
If you need * amount of drug for the desired effect, why not take it in the method of delivery that would allow you to best utilize your money and drugs you bought.

The only condition to that being, do you feel the tradeoff of discomfort/taboo of inserting something rectally is maybe worth spending an extra 20 bucks or so and just eating it?
