So I spoke with my ex-GF from 4 years ago the other night on the phone. She told me she was moving down to San Antonio the day after that. I told her to give me a call and she said she was going to need help painting her new home so she said she would've called me for sure either on Thursday or Friday. So I waited all day Thursday and almost all of Friday now. Still no ring. And to make things go WTF, a bunch of my other ex-GFs have been calling me up today all of a sudden.

agreed. it all depends on what type of relationship you had and how much you were into the person. some relationships took me months, to almost even a year to get over, but some(my latest and longest) took only a few days. it all just depends.

id put myself out of my own misery before i wasted a year grieving over anyone.

i stay cool with ex's.. but I don't go out of my way to call, talk, or hang out.. esp if the relationship ended really bad.. ex's are ex's for a reason.. plenty of others out an about.. no need to hang onto the past and make things complicated.

i dont think staying friends with an ex is considered hanging on to the past. i mean, especially if you were friends BEFORE you were "lovers". i think if you're both mature and non-dramatic, then u can continue to have a healthy non-sexual relationship after u break it off.

see, that's the problem - there really aren't many people who can handle a non-dramatic, non-sexual, mature, respectful interpersonal relationship after a breakup.

there can be many many avenues for drama post-breakup - it could be compared to a pandoras box - some things are better left shut

i know, its quite sad. my ex just came into town for his 21st bday. we went out for like, a year and a half and have been broken up for a year. we had a blast, no drama, slept in the same bed and didnt even have sex. yay for us!! me = teh anti-drama.
